Abstract

Edupark is a learning resource that integrates tourism destinations with the educational process to make physics learning more contextual and meaningful. Masjid Agung Pondok Tinggi, a nationally protected cultural heritage building in Sungai Penuh, Jambi, has architectural ornaments (pillars, minaret, walls, roof, doors, and drum) that contain physics concepts relevant to the Merdeka Curriculum, yet this potential has not been utilised as a learning resource. This study conducted a preliminary analysis of Masjid Agung Pondok Tinggi's potential as a physics edupark using the EDUPARK development model, limited to the Edupark Finding, Direct Observation, and Understanding of Students, Teachers, and Curriculum Characteristics stages, combined with the Concept Fitting Technique. Data were obtained from questionnaires and interviews involving 33 Physicsspecialisation students and a physics teacher of SMAN 3 Sungai Penuh, as well as direct observation of the mosque. The results show that 78.79% of students have a visual learning style, 87.9% have visited the mosque but only 45.5% are aware of its physics concepts, and enrichment books integrating local wisdom have never been developed at the school. These findings indicate the need to design a Contextual Teaching and Learning-based physics enrichment book integrated with the Masjid Agung Pondok Tinggi edupark, which is expected to benefit students by making physics learning more contextual, visually engaging, and connected to theirlocal cultural heritage.
